In my opinion there are still too many people that want to be a PO or a PM because

a) they see themselves as leaders

b) for the money.

For a), the problem is that usually they have no idea how to lead, what a leader trully means, or what are the challanges for a leader, and after that

what a PO and/or PM really means, or what they need to do in this position. It has a fancy name, so they want it.

For b) it's simple, it's just another job. They don't care if they do it right or not, if the product will succed or not, if the team will help him or they will all leave one by one. (Of course, if they leave, it's never his fault, "they don't get it how's real life")
